The combined DVD and CD transport is chosen for its performance and quietness of operation. Music and pictures from iPods® can be seamlessly integrated using either Arcam’s rDock or rLead. Solo Movie 5.1 takes over the control and amplification with all iPod text appearing on the front panel display of the unit.

Surround-sound decoding and amplification are also not left to chance. Arcam has brought all its experience to bear to deliver stunning surround sound from Dolby Digital, DTS or Dolby Pro Logic II decoding modes.

Inside Solo Movie technology abounds. Component quality is superior to any other all-in-one movie system using parts normally found in much more esoteric equipment. The oversize torroid transformer, four-layer PCB boards and Arcam’s “Mask of Silence” technology all contribute to making Solo Movie a true high-end system without compromise.

Individual sections are isolated on their own PCB boards to eliminate interference and ensure signal clarity. A massive side mounted heat-sink maintains excellent ventilation and allows the unit to run cool without the need for a noisy fan.

Two versions are offered either with Component or with RGB SCART video switching. Using its full suite of Intra Red (IR) sockets and two-way RS232 connection, Solo Movie can be seamlessly integrated into large-scale custom installations. A second zone output can be used for tape recorders or for an adjoining room where an independent volume control can be engaged.
